Everton Set to Raid Chelsea for Another Loan star

Everton are set to raid Chelsea for a loan star for the second season running as the Toffees launch a bid for Ghana ace Christian Atsu.

The Toffees signed Romelu Lukaku on a temporary 12 month deal last summer, and they are now hoping to repeat the trick for the second time.

Atsu joined the Blues from Porto in 2013, but is yet to make an appearance for the club.

He spent the 2013-14 campaign on loan at Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem, where he netted five goals in 28 appearances.

That form ensured he was called up for the Ghana’s World Cup squad where he featured in all three of their matches.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen for the 22-year-old to gain experience of the English game, and according to reports, is keen for the player to link up with Roberto Martinez’s Everton.

If a deal is struck for Atsu, it would complicate the Toffees’ pursuit for Lukaku.

Martinez’s side are keen on bringing the 21-year-old back to Goodison Park.

However, Premier League clubs are not allowed to have two players from the same club on loan at the same time, meaning Everton would be forced into signing the Belgian on a permanent basis, rather than another loan deal.

In any case they will have to fight off interest from the likes of Juventus, Tottenham and Wolfsburg, who are all chasing the in demand frontman.
