Chelsea Willing to Sell Torres for £13m after Atletico Steps In

Chelsea are planning to sell Spanish striker Fernando Torres this summer.

Reports claim that the Blues are willing let the 30-year-old forward leave Stamford Bridge, and that Torres’ former club Atletico Madrid are keen to re-sign the striker.

Atletico’s chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin was in London last weekend discussing a possible deal for the Blues hit-man.

Atletico are set to offer Chelsea £13m for Torres, and the Blues are willing to accept the cut-price fee.

Torres began his career with Atletico and scored 91 goals in 244 appearances for the La Liga champions before leaving the Vincente Calderon in 2007 to join Liverpool.

“Atletico are set to offer Chelsea £13m for Torres, and according to Mundo Deportivo the Blues are willing to accept the cut-price fee.”

The Spanish international spent four years at Anfield, scoring 65 goals in 102 appearances for the Reds, before joining Chelsea in 2011 for £50m.

Since moving to Stamford Bridge the Spaniard has failed to regain the sensational form he had at Liverpool which made him a fan favourite at Anfield.

In 174 appearances for the Blues, the former Atletico star has only managed to score 45 goals for Jose Mourinho’s side.
