Yuletide Tragedy: 23 Killed In Auto Crash In Cross Rivers

From Ignatius Okpara, Calabar – No fewer that 23 people Wednesday morning lost their lives in a ghastly auto- crash which occurred along the Calabar-Awi-Akamkpa Expressway of Cross River State, South South, Nigeria.
The tragic incident which happened in the wee hours involved a gold coloured Picnic car and a 14-seater Hiace commercial bus.
AFRICAN EXAMINER gathered that the bus was coming from Ikom axis, with a total of 18 passengers, while the Picnic mini bus was conveying six people said to be returning from a burial ceremony of one of their friends in one of the Northern States.
Our Correspondent further learnt that the Hiace bus, had a head- on- collision with the Picnic car which led to the demise of seven people on the spot, while the rest gave up the ghost later.
