Wike Worked Against Me In Rivers, I Still Won More Than 50% – Peter Obi
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Across Nigeria Monday, March 13th, 2023(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Labour Party presidential candidate in the just-ended 2023 election, Peter Obi, has stated that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State came against him in the February 25 presidential election.
Obi also berated those who alleged that he got votes in Lagos because of the presence of Igbos.
The former Anambra State Governor made this known on Monday when he appeared on the Arise Television’s Morning Show program.
He stated that people of different ethnic extraction across the country voted for him in the just-ended February 25 presidential election.
“Some people said he got votes in Lagos because of Igbos. How many Igbos live in Lagos? I got more votes from indigenous people in Lagos than those you can call visitors. Is it Igbos who voted for me in Nasarawa, Plateau and Abuja? In Rivers where you know that the governor came out against me in everything if the real votes in Rivers were counted, I won more than 50% in the State,” Obi said.
