We’re Ready To Negotiate With Boko Haram On Chibok Girls -Buhari
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Wednesday, July 22nd, 2015Ayo Balogun – Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari told. Cable News Network (CNN) that his government is ready to negotiate with Boko Haram over the possible release of the over 200 Chibok girls still being held captive by the sect.
Buhari, who spoke on the CNN programme, Amanpour, said his government would be willing to negotiate with the Boko Haram as long as there are assurances that the leadership of the sect coming forward was genuine.
He stated that rescuing and rehabilitating the Chibok girls remained paramount.
According to him, there was need to be very careful about the credibility of various Boko Haram leaderships coming up and claiming that they can deliver.
The president said bringing the girls back remained a priority of his administration.
Buhari vowed to tackle corruption, warning that nobody would be spared in the war against graft.
