It Would Be Recalled That The Lekki Tollgate Has Been A Subject Of Debate After The October 20, 2020 Shooting Involving The #Endsars Protesters.
The Tollgate Has Been Shutdown Since Then But The Lagos State Judicial Panel Had The Company Approval To Resume Operations.
However, This Development Sparked Reactions On Social Media As A New Protest Tagged #Occupylekki Which Happened Last Week Saturday.
Reacting, The Managing Director Said The Company Is Not A Part Of The Problem But A “Victim” In The #Endsars Protests.
“We Have Always Maintained The Fact That We Are Not Part Of The Problem; We Are Not Part Of The #Endsars Issue,” He Said.
“We Are Just A Company, Operating And Working On Its Own. One Day, We Observed That We Had Been Forced Out Of The Location.
“As At Today, We Have About 12 Billion In Local Currencies. We Have About 31 Million In Us Dollars; That Is A Lot Of Money. This Is The Money That Has Been Used To Build The Road.
We Are The Victims; We Are The Ones That Have Nothing To Do With The Protest And Then We Were Burnt Down. We Have Lost Some Money Right Now. We Are Trying To Get Back To Operation.
“We Have A Number Of Obligations To Meet, A Number Of International Debts.”
