We Didn’t Bar Elumelu From Buhari’s Business Dinner CCA
Business News, Latest Headlines Thursday, July 23rd, 2015The Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), the premier American organization devoted to US-Africa business relations, on Wednesday refuted the report alleging that President Buhari questioned the participation of Mr Tony Elumelu and other Nigerian business leaders in the meeting hosted by the U.S Chambers of Commerce in partnership with the CCA for the visiting Nigerian President.
In an email correspondence with Per Second News Wednesday afternoon, CCA President Mr. Stephen Hayes, said that Mr. Elumelu was at the dinner but he understands that he had to leave early in order to catch a flight to the Republic of Congo.
Earlier, Jennifer Wright, Communications Director for the CCA said that Mr Elumelu is a respected board member of the CCA and was duly invited and registered for the event.
Per Second News gathered that in his role as a director of the CCA, Mr. Elumelu has spent several years promoting business, trade, and investment between the United States and Nigeria.
Elumelu is the Chairman of Heirs Holdings, UBA Group as well as Transcorp Nigeria PLC.
