Violence Erupts In APC Rep Primaries In Mushin, Ifako/Ijaiye
Latest Headlines, News, Nigeria 2015 Election Sunday, December 7th, 2014Ayo Balogun, Lagos – Violence erupted at the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections into the Federal House of Representatives in Mushin and Ifako/Ijaiye areas of Lagos.
Thugs went on rampage in Mushin when the voting was in the process, as they damaged property and smashed vehicles windshield parked close to APC Secretariat on Layi Oyekanmi in Mushin, venue of the election.
Violence started when some thugs outside the venue were said to have gotten information that voting was not going in favour of a particular.
It was gathered that the thugs went on rampage with the intention of disrupting the voting. They were said to have stormed the venue and started harassing people.
An eyewitness, who craved anonymity, said the situation later returned to normal after men of the Department of State Security (DSS) came in to disperse the thugs and the election was held peacefully but cars and property were damaged.
In Ifako/Ijaiye, thugs stormed the local government Area office, venue of the primary and attempted to disrupt the process. The thugs were said to belong to one of the contestants.
