US Says Her Contribution To Anti-Terrorism Is $5 Million Not $5 Billion
Latest Headlines, News Tuesday, June 16th, 2015Contrary to Monday report, the United States Diplomatic Mission to Nigeria has corrected that the United States (US) government’s contribution to the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) war against Boko Haram insurgents is $5 million, not $5 Billion.
In a press statement issued by the Public Affairs Division of the US Consulate it was that recalled that on Monday, June 15, members of the US government delegation to the African Union Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa briefed reporters on the range of U.S. engagement in Africa.
The statement said: “It was widely reported that the United States is offering $5 billion to the Multinational Joint Task Force to fight Boko Haram”.
US Embassy said it wished to clarify that the actual amount is $5 million as against $ Billion widely reported yesterday and today in some of the Nigerian National dailies.
