US Election: New Hampshire Victories Boost Trump, Sanders Momentum
Latest Headlines, World News Wednesday, February 10th, 2016The forthcoming US Presidential election is getting more exciting, as the Republican Donald Trump and Democrat, Bernie Sanders recorded decisive victories in the New Hampshire primary boosting their campaigns ahead of South Carolina and Nevada primaries.
The primary contest is to elect the candidates who will fly the flags of both parties.
The next US Presidential poll is scheduled for November this year.
The two candidates are currently riding on a wave of discontent with mainstream politics.
With the emerging situation, billionaire Trump is likely to get more than twice the number of votes of the next Republican candidate.
Senator Sanders, who floored a co-Democratic challenger and former Secretary of State, Mrs Hillary Clinton by a huge margin, indicated that his victory was a confirmation that people wanted “real change”.
Ohio Governor, John Kasich came second, while former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Florida Senator Marco Rubio were all vying for third place in the Republican vote.
Victory in New Hampshire is key as it is the second state to choose delegates in the long nomination battle following last week’s Iowa caucuses, which were won by Mr. Cruz for the Republicans and Mrs Clinton for the Democrats.
