US Based Rangers strong Supporter Donates Over One million Naira To Players

Patron of ex-Rangers international FC association of Enugu, Mr. Benson Ejindu on monday put smile on faces of the players and coaches, as he doled out one million, one hundred and fifty thousand naira to them for humiliating visiting Akwa United FC of Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, 3-0 in the week seven of the ongoing 2015/2016 Nigeria professional football league NPFL.
Ejindu, who said he started supporting the Enugu club side at a tender age of six,explained that the incentive was aimed at motivating the players who are presently in good form.
While recalling how Rangers FC, established in 1970, assisted in re- integrating the Igbos into Nigeria scheme of things, after the Biafran civil war, the soccer enthusiast, noted that the club remains a movement, which every true Igbo man must always support and identified with.
AFRICAN EXAMINER Sports reports that the philanthropist, who based in the United states of America, USA, had during the encounter with the Uyo club side, promised to offer Rangers club 1 million naira should they grab the 3 point at stake.
He also pledged to give them N50,000 per each goal scored during the match, a challenge the flying Antelopes surmounted by scoring 3 unreplied goals, leading to their grabbing of a total N1,150, 000.00
To match his words with action, Ejindu had shortly after addressing the players and coaches at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium Enugu, handed over the cash money to captain of the club, Okey Odita on behalf of his team mates.
He said his action was driven by his age long passion for the Enugu club side, which is among the very few foremost existing teams in Nigeria.
The Ex- Rangers patron, assured that he will continued to invest in the club,so long the boys are doing well.
He also urged ex- Rangers players who are financially buoyant, such as former Nigeria Super Eagles Skipper, J.J Okocha to support and invest in the club.
Ejindu however, promised that himself and other ardent supporters of the club in US, will do everything within their powers to ensure that Rangers regains its lost glory.
Rangers Technical Adviser, who also played for the Enugu club side, and Nigerian Green Eagles, Mr. Christian Chukwu, his colleague, and goal keeper legend, Emma Okalla as well as the club’s General Manager, Ozor Paul Chibuzor all, hailed Mr. Ejindu, for the kind gesture, calling on others to emulate him.
