US 2016 Election: Americans Vote 45th President After Engaging Campaign
Latest Headlines, U.S./Canada, World News Tuesday, November 8th, 2016BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The US Presidential poll is underway after one of the most rancorous election campaigns in America’s history.
Voting begins on the East Coast from 06:00 EST (11:00 GMT), although some villages in New Hampshire have already polled.
The two leading candidates – Mrs. Hillary Clinton and Mr. Donald Trump Monday criss-crossed America in a hectic last-minute campaign to push for votes.
Expectedly, poll results will trickle in late Tuesday night – US time, (04:00 GMT).
Both Clinton and Trump have held rallies in the battleground states of North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Michigan. As at early Tuesday, the Democratic candidate is in a slight lead with 48 per cent as against her rival with 44 per cent.
