UPDATE: Edo 2016: Modu-Sheriff PDP Faction Governorship Primary Underway

EDO, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – At last, the parallel primary organized by Senator Ali Modu-Sheriff faction of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is underway in Edo State.

The exercise was earlier on Wednesday stalled as the security operatives locked and cordoned ways to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium venue of the primary.

The primary accredited 677 delegates and voting proper started around 4.24pm.

Prior to voting, Hon. Johnson Agbonayima stepped down for a co-contestant, Mr. Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, leaving him as the only competing aspirant.
