Unknown gunmen have attacked Soro Divisional Police Station in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State, shooting a police corporal before freeing four suspects in police detention on Sunday.
This attack is coming barely a week after gunmen destroyed the Divisional Police Station in Giade with guns and explosives and freeing a suspect in detention.
African Examiner gathered from a security source that two cattle rustlers and two armed robbery suspects were allegedly freed by the gunmen.
The source further disclosed that the gunmen after the attack were reported to have gone to the house of a serving policeman in Gombe and killed him and his son.
The murdered policeman was said to have come to Soro to see his family when the gunmen stormed his house and killed him with his son.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Police Command, DSP Haruna Mohammed told newsmen that a police corporal was shot in the leg by the gunmen during the attack at the station in Soro.
He said three suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack, saying the police is currently investigating the incident.
