Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha has described former Governor of the state, Achike Udenwa, senator Ifeanyi Ararume and others who defected from All progressive Congress APC to PDP last Saturday as “expired politicians”.
African Examiner reports that Udenwa, Ararume, senator Chris Anyanwu, representing Owerri east and others formally defected from the opposition APC and APGA to the ruling peoples Democratic Party PDP over the weekend during an event attended by president Jonathan in Owerri.
Addressing newsmen in Owerri, Okorocha said “It pains me that Mr President was deceived to spend N250 million to buy a bunch of expired politicians whose political value is not up to N1 million”.
He noted that the gang up of the said politicians cannot in anyway threaten the fortunes or victory of the APC in 2015, adding that, “It is painful that after three years of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, all he could do for Imo people was to commission Udenwa, Ararume and Anyanwu as his projects for voting him into power.
Hear him: “Everybody admitted that Imo gave President Jonathan 1.3 million votes, three years after we have nothing to show for it. Does it mean that all Imo is good for is to cast votes?
“What you saw in the state was a gathering of the problem of Imo people and thank God that they are now in one basket and they will be easy to evacuate in 2015.
“They have deceived Mr President. All they could say at the rally was how to take back power,” he stated.
