Tragedy Averted As Police Discover Two Bombs At Restaurant In Imo

A major tragedy was on Thursday averted in Imo state, as the police discovered two improvise explosive devices (IED) planted in a popular restaurant situated at Ikenegbu Layout, in Owerri, the state capital by unknown persons.
According to the police, One of the explosive devices was planted in- between the split unit Air conditioners at the lobby (reception) of the restaurant while the second weapon was planted at the back of the restaurant close to the cooking gas cylinders.
Imo state Commissioner of police, AbudulMajid Ali briefed newsmen at the scene of the discovery.
He said the command had received a distressed call from the Manager of the Eatery outlets at about 21:30 hours that there was a possibility that a bomb has been planted in the restaurant.
The Imo police boss, disclosed that immediately the command received the information it swung into, condoned the area off and detonated the bomb.
