Three Soldiers, Suspected Terrorists Killed During Bloody Encounter In Borno

BORNO, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Three suspected Boko Haram terrorists, three soldiers and an officer were killed Monday during a patrol by the Operation LAFIYA DOLE troops in Borno State, North eastern Nigeria.
The acting Director, Army Public Relations Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman explained that the troops from Maiduguri, encountered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and ambush between Miyanti and Dareljamal.
In the encounter, Colonel Usman confirmed that army “lost an officer and 3 soldiers, while 16 soldiers and 3 Civilian JTF sustained injuries…”
The troops also recovered a Machine Gun, 1 AK-47 Rifle and some quantity of ammunition from the suspected insurgents.
The Army Spokesman also confirmed that two vehicles that entered the IED were badly damaged, while the wounded have since been evacuated and in stable condition.
