Terrorists Killed Another Another Battalion Commander In Borno
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Tuesday, November 15th, 2016BORNO, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Barely two weeks after Lt. Col. Muhammad Abu-Ali was killed, has indication emerged that that Boko Haram insurgents have killed another military officer.
The new victim was identified as Lt. Col. B. Umar. He was reportedly killed Monday while leading the troops of the 114 Tank Battalion from Gwoza, Borno to Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
Lt. Col Umar’s vehicle was to have stepped on a mine and when he alighted to inspect the level of damage, the terrorists who might have laid ambush, opened fire on him and other soldiers.
The attack resulted to bloody counter, in which soldiers with the late soldier killed many of the insurgents.
It would be recalled that late Lt. Col. Abu-Ali and six other soldiers were killed by the insurgents at Mallam Fatori, a border area between Nigeria, Niger and Cameroon, while heading to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
There is no official confirmation yet from the Nigerian Army on the sad incident.
