Tension In Ekiti Over Scheduled Protest By Yoruba Nation Agitators

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The atmosphere in ekiti is heavily tensed as armed security operatives on Saturday morning are posted to strategic locations in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital ahead of a rally by the Yoruba Nation agitators.

The security personnel comprises men of the Nigerian Police Force, Joint Task Force, the Department of State Service (DSS), Amotekun, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Around 9:15am, the combined security operatives who were heavily armed were stationed around the popular Fajuyi park, the venue for the scheduled rally.

Security officials were also seen in front of the Ekiti Government House, Adunni Olayinka Bus stop, Oke-sa interjection and other strategic points in the state capital.

The agitators were not moved by the presence of the heavily armed security operatives as they flooded the venue of the rally in their large numbers.
