Teenager, Six Others In Trouble Over Indian Hemp

19year old, Abigail Alex and six other persons, were on Monday charged with unlawful possession of Indian hemp and therefore appeared before an Ikeja Magistrate Court .
Bolu Ogunleye, 35 Aliu Giwa, 28, Lanre Sarumi, 37, Emmanuel Victor Ndoreyem, 36 Adanlawo, 47, and Friday Agbosa, 43 were all charged with the offence.
They were arraigned on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, attempt to steal, unlawful possession and disorderly person.
The Prosecutor, ASP Barth Nwakaoye, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Jan. 10, at 9 p.m. at Ogba Motor Garage, Ogba, Lagos.
He further told the court that the accused were caught with wraps of substances filled with weeds, suspected to be Indian hemp.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes Sections 166(d), 327, 404, and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Eniola Fabamwo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with one surety. She adjourned the case till March 12 for mention.
