Teenager, 3 Others Remanded In Prison For Robbing Indian Man Of Properties Worth N3 Million

19-year old Andrew Ayuba and three others were on Thursday docked before a Lagos Magistrate sitting in Ikeja for robbing Ajay Malhotra,an Indian national of his property worth N3,279,000.
Peter Maina, 24 Paul Dauda 23 , Andrew Ayuba 19 and Ali Abubakar 21 were arraigned before magistrate Oshodi Makanju on a six count chargeof armed robbery.
Prosecutor Edet Okoi told the court that, the accused armed with gun and dangerous knives on the 10th day of November, 2013 and robbed theComplainant of his properties at Lekki area of Lagos.
He further told the court that the accused carted away the sum of N265,000, Jewellries worth N 1,359,000, one Sony laptop valued N250,000, two HP laptops valued at N540,000, one Ipad valued N150,000, one Iphone valued 105,000, one Ipod valued N45, a Bose head phone valued at 105,000, two gold wrist watch valued at N80,000, a Sony digital valued N80,000, three Blackberry phones valued 210,000, two mobile Nokia phones valued N75,000 and a suitcase valued N15,000.
The prosecutor said the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under section 1(2)(a) (b), 6(b) of the robbery and firearms (special provisions) Act, Cap. 378, Vol XXII laws of the Federation of Nig. 1990 as amended.
However, Magistrate Oshodi ask the accused to be remanded in prison, the matter is adjourned to the 28th February.
