Taraba House Of Assembly Endorses Reinstated Deputy Gov, Danladi As Acting Governor

Following the Supreme Court ruling last Friday, the Taraba State House of Assembly has approved Alhaji Sani Danladi to act as the State’s Governor on acting capacity.
The Assembly which also elected Hon. Mark Useni as the new Speaker, to succeed the just resigned former Speaker, Hon. Josiah Kente, established that Section 190(2) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, mandated the House to confirm Danladi as acting Governor while the indisposed State Governor Dambaba Suntai recovers.
Motion to elevate the acting Governor was moved by the House Majority Leader, Hon. Joseph Kunini, under Matters of Urgent Public Importance. The motion was seconded by Abubakar Jugulde.
Similarly, Hon Kizito Bonzena moved the motion to elect Hon Useni as the new Speaker, while he was seconded by another fellow legislator, Hon. Hamman Adama, representing Zing and Bali constituencies respectively.
