Tailor Stabs Colleague To Death With Scissors in Abia
Abia, Latest Headlines Saturday, August 22nd, 2015BY IGNATIUS OKPARA, Umuahia – The entire Umuwaya area of Umuahia, the Abia State capital was thrown into tension and mourning friday,as a young vibrant tailor, Mr. Anthony Kalu, was stabbed to death with Scissors by his colleague, identified as John Iheanyi.
The ugly incident AFRICAN EXAMINER gathered, took place at No 39, Kaduna Street, Umuwaya Road Umuahia, following a minor disagreement between the late Kalu, and his killer, over the deceased absence from a scheduled meeting of tailors in the area.
Our Correspondent learnt that the meeting was aimed at discussing issues relating to sanitation matters by the tailors Association, and was fully attended by members.
Both the late Kalu, and the killer suspect, Iheanyi, are indigenes of Ebonyi state.
During the meeting, it was agreed that absentee members be queried why they were not in attendance.
Trouble however, was said to have started when the suspect, Iheanyi, confronted the victim to know why he was busy with his business while the meeting was going on.
An altercation which ensued between the two Ebonyians, as a result of the confrontation made Ifeanyi, to stab the deceased with a pair of scissors which pierced through his neck, leaving him to bleed from his mouth, nose, eyes ears, and eventually gave up the ghost.
Our Correspondent gathered that when Iheanyi, noticed that Kalu has passed on, he allegedly left the scissors on the throat of the deceased and proceeded to a nearby Central Police Station where he handed himself over to the police.
Abia State Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, Mr Ezekiel Onyeke, who confirmed the incident, said the command has begun full scale investigation into the barbaric act.
