T.A. Orji, Akpabio, Jang Win PDP Senatorial Tickets
Latest Headlines, News From The State, Nigeria 2015 Election Sunday, December 7th, 2014Ignatius Okpara (Umuahia), Agabus Pwanagba, Jos – Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, has won the Abia Central Senatorial seat in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries.
The Governor who returned unopposed got 221 votes of the 222 votes cast with one vote voided.
Speaking at the occasion, Governor Orji said Abians have demonstrated their love for him in practical terms through their votes.
The Governor pledged that as a senator, he would see himself as a representative of the people adding that he owes the people a duty to speak for them in the senate.
Also in Uyo, Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa-Ibom emerged the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.
The incumbent senator, Aloysius Etuk had stepped down for governor saying his decision to step down follows several consultations with stakeholders in his senatorial district.
In Plateau state, Governor Jonah Jang won the Plateau North Senatorial District PDP primaries.
Jang polled273 votes to beat Amb. Ibrahim Kassai who got 18 votes.
Barrister Olivia Dazyam, who announced the results on Sunday at Treasures Inn, Jos where the election took place, commended delegates and supporters for their peaceful conduct and urged them to continue same in the Governorship primaries.
Speaking after the victory, Governor Jang urged Ambassador Kassai to join hands with him and ensure that the party emerges winner in the general election.
