Synagogue Tragedy: Death Toll Rises To 45 As 130 People Rescued

The Lagos State Government says 45 dead bodies have so far been evacuated from the collapsed 6-storey building at the Synagogue of All Nations, while 130 people have been rescued alive so far with various degree of injuries
General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu told African Examiner this night that as at 10pm on Sunday, 45 bodies had so far been removed from the debris and 130 others rescued.
He said rescue operation was still ongoing three days after the collapse of the six storeys building within the premises of the church, the worst tragedy that had befallen Lagos State this year.
“A total of 45 dead bodies and 130 casualties recovered. The casualties are receiving medical attention in various Lagos State hospitals. Rescue operation still ongoing but approaching ground zero as at 10pm,” he said.
Also, Director, Lagos State Fire Services, Rasak Fadipe said rescue operation is still ongoing and that five more dead bodies, including three male and two female were recovered on Sunday making it 45 dead bodies all together.
