Sylva Says Buhari Will Address #Endsars Protesters’ Concerns
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Across Nigeria Wednesday, April 7th, 2021(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Timipre Sylva, minister of state for petroleum resources, says President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to addressing issues raised by #EndSARS protesters.
The minister spoke while reacting to concerns by Davido, award-winning singer, when he hosted him on Wednesday.
In a statement by Julius Bokoru, his spokesman, Sylva said the president “is on a fair and right trajectory in addressing concerns raised by the #EndSARS protesters”.
It is understood that the minister and the ‘OBO’ crooner discussed several issues during the meeting including art, politics, youth empowerment, and harmonisation of the various age grades in the country.
They also examined the possibilities of building platforms for youth development and talent discovery.
Sylva reiterated the federal government’s commitment to youth empowerment. He, however, enjoined the youth to stop blaming the leaders for their problems and find ways of initiating solutions to make the country better.
“Your generation is a smart one but it must proffer solutions too. If we all blame ourselves then we are farther and farther from any real solution. We must all harmonise, brainstorm and come up with creative ideas to improve life in our country,” he said.
On his part, Davido commended the minister for his signature on gas initiative, especially the National Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP) and the Auto gas schemes designed to lessen dependence on petrol.
The musician observed that petrol was costlier, heavier, and less eco-friendly compared to gas.
