Suspected Boko Haram Gunmen killed 8 Shia Worshippers in Potiskum
Featured, Latest Headlines, News From The State Wednesday, July 30th, 2014Another twin bomb blasts have killed 8 worshippers Tuesday night in two different Shia mosques in the Potiskum town, Yobe State, North Eastern Nigeria.
The eruptions were linked to the Takfiri Boko Haram terrorists. The first explosion scattered an open-air Shia mosque and targeted at followers of the Dogo Tebo area of Potiskum around 7:55pm with 4 causality as reported by AFP.
The second blast was reportedly erupted about five minutes later in a mosque in the Anguwar Bolawa area, located within the premises of the Chief Imam, killing not less than four worshippers.
Eyewitnesses said they saw the suicide bomber how he blew himself up at the open air of Saqafa mosque used by Shias after the sunset prayer on Tuesday.
Potiskum is Yobe state’s commercial hub. The town has been under repeated siege by the dreaded Boko Haram members since advent of insurgency in the country in the last five years.
