The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, has called on Nigerians to support their representatives at the forthcoming National Dialogue.
Sultan Abubakar who stated this during a visit to the Gbong Gwom Jos, at his palace in Jos on Saturday, said people like the Gbong Gwom Jos with his wealth of experience will contribute Immensely to the proposed National Conference.
His words, “So we urge all Nigerians to give maximum support to all representatives at the conference, so that they represent us very well and bring out the yearnings of the people of this great country on to the table which would be discussed so that Nigeria would be a better society which is the motto of NIPSS.
“We have common problems in this country, whether you are a Christian or a Muslim or an African traditional religious follower, we have the same problems in this country, extremism, terrorism, poverty, unemployment, our children of school age not going to school, even the common infrastructure not as they ought to be.
He said as Nigerians we should put our heads together to overcome common problems.
The Sultan added that he is pleased to see that peace has returned to Jos, adding that “I can see the number of cars in the city, it took us about 45 minutes to get here from Kuru, not because of checkpoints, I saw only two checkpoints or so.”
“It is left for all of us to make sure that this peace that we have achieved is not thrown away. We must do whatever it takes to bring peace not only to Plateau or North-East, but to every nook and corner of this country.” He stated
