Strange! Police Arrest Lady Over Killing Of A Day Old Baby In Enugu

The police in Enugu has arrested a young lady (names withheld) for throwing her one-day-old male baby from a two-storey building few hours after she was put to bed.

Our Correspondent gathered that the strange action was carried out Tuesday in the lady’s apartment on Ezeani Street, New Haven, Enugu.

It was also gathered that the woman was impregnated by an unknown person, a development that made her to conceal the pregnancy for quite some time before she delivered without the knowledge of her neighbours.

Shortly after delivery, the lady wrapped the baby and the placenta and threw him from a two-storey building with the intention of killing the baby boy.

The skull of the baby was reportedly shattered and he died instantly.

AFRICAN EXAMINER gathered that some residents of the area who noticed the barbaric act, immediately alerted the New Haven Police division, a situation which led to her arrest.

A source told newsmen that shortly after, the suspect hid in her room, but the security operatives and health workers stormed the building to conduct an emergency examination on all women residing in the compound to determine who delivered the baby.

When the lady was examined it was discovered that she was still bleeding, an indication that she was responsible for the ungodly act.

Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident and arrest of the lady, said she was already helping the police in full scale investigations
