Seahawks’ Marshawn Lynch fined $50,000 by NFL
- Updated: January 5, 2014
Marshawn Lynch is paying the price for keeping his lips zipped.
The league fined the Seattle Seahawks running back $50,000 for failing to speak with the media throughout the season, a team source told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.
The NFL fined Lynch this week only after it found out he had violated the league’s media policy, per Rapoport. ESPN’s Adam Schefter was first to report the news of the fine.
Lynch kept quiet until Friday, when he sat down with reporters for a brief conversation about his 1,257-yard, 12-touchdown campaign, which helped the Seahawks earn the top seed in the NFC. ESPN.com’s Terry Blount clocked Lynch’s Q&A at 1 minute, 23 seconds, a chat scattered with clipped responses.
