”We Haven’t Won Anything Yet” Rodgers

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists the plaudits his free scoring side is earning will only have merit when backed up with silverware.

The message from the Northern Irishman is ‘we haven’t done anything yet’ following the now customary barrage of questions regarding a title bid.

A weekly press briefing at the club’s training ground, Melwood, increasingly resembles Rodgers trying to extinguish the fires as excitable inquisitors try to fan the flames of expectation.

Unlike earlier in the season, Rodgers is embracing the club’s status as title challengers rather than mere top four hopefuls, but his tone remains measured.

He’s no longer beating off the suggestion Liverpool can win it, but there is no doubt it would be perceived as an achievement far exceeding last summer’s targets.
