One of Nigeria’s most promising midfielders, Gabriel Reuben has finally found another club in Europe after signing for Belgian side Waasland-Beveren.

Reuben, who has been a free agent  after terminating his contract at Scottish Premier League side Killmarnock due to series of disputes signed a one and a half year contract with Waasland-Beveren.

The 21 year old was invited to join Premier League side Tottenham Hotspurs in training, but he subsequently departed the London club after receiving offer from Waasland-Beveren.

The Kaduna born player handed in a quit notice in November and demanded to leave Kilmarnock in the January 2014 window

He was released after Kilmarnockr accepted his request to terminate his contract.

The former Kano Pillars star has consistently showed his ambition to feature for the Super Eagles even as a home based player.

This move will surely increase his chances of making coach Stephen Keshi’s final squad to this summer’s Fifa World Cup in Brazil.

As a home based player, the talented midfielder was named both the player of the year and the national team player of the years award winner at the 2012 League Bloggers Award in Lagos.

Before leaving Nigeria, Gabriel had featured for former African champions Enyimba, Kaduna United and Kano Pillars.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has refused to throw party to celebrate his 52nd birthday on Thursday.

Keshi insisted his birthday will not be celebrated until the end of the on-going African Nations Championship tournament in South Africa.

“As a matter of fact we have suspended any form of celebration till we achieve what we came here to do in South Africa”, he said.

However, the management of Green Court Hotel took time to celebrate the coach at lunch, as the staff pulled out birthday balloons and cakes for the former Anderlecht of Belgium and Strasbourg of France skipper.

Nigeria will meet Morocco in one of the quarter-final matches on Fiday and Keshi, who has consistently expressed confidence in the Nigerian based players will hope that his boys make him proud as they attempt to win the trophy for the first time.
