Mourinho Sets To Release Torress/Eto’o As Ba Leaves Chelsea

Demba BA is preparing himself for a summer exit from Chelsea – and talks with interested clubs already underway.Ba joined the Blues in January 2013 from Newcastle United during the short reign of Rafa Benitez at Stamford Bridge. However the Senegalese striker has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place and, since the return of Jose Mourinho as manager, fallen behind Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o in the pecking order.

Ba, who also enjoyed a short spell with West Ham in 2011, has not started a match since December and is now readying himself for a switch away from the current Premier League leaders.

“I’d like to stay in England. I like other leagues, too. I’d like to try the Italian league” Demba Ba.

“My agent has spoken to the club about a departure and he has started speaking with other clubs about a contract for next season,” Ba said.

“Nothing’s been confirmed but there are a few teams in Italy who play very good football.”

Despite his future remaining uncertain, Ba is focussed on ensuring his Chelsea career ends on a high with at least the Premier League or Champions League crown.”That would be the best way to go out the door.”If I leave with at least the title or the Champions League, that would be exceptional.”

Meanwhile, Mourinho is ready to ditch his two other strikers this summer.

He claims some of his players lack the “balls” to be champions – and has run out of patience with shot-shy strikers Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o.Mourinho says his side needs major surgery in the summer and is ready to clear the decks to make way for the likes of Diego Costa or Radamel Falcao. He said: “We want to improve the team and the players and make some surgical movements in the transfer window.

“I don’t think it’s the moment to speak about next season and the market but it’s clear to everybody that Chelsea next year wants to bring a striker. That is clear.

“It’s also clear we want to improve our players. I can’t and I don’t need to improve Ivanovic, Cahill, John Terry. I can’t improve them and I don’t need to improve them. Mourinho said.
