Madrid half way to Copa Del Rev Semi

Kareem Benzema’s first half header has given Real Madrid a slender lead into the second leg of their Copa Del Rey quarter-final after a 1-0 win at Espanyol.
Benzema led the attack Carlo Ancelotti fielded a full-strength side in an effort to take a commanding lead into the return leg.
The France international gave the visitors the lead after reacting quickest to Gareth Bale’s flick-on at the near post to guide his header into the net despite the best efforts of Kiko Casilla.
Espanyol emerged for the second half rejuvenated and passed up several good opportunities, particularly from Sergio Garcia and Alex Fernandez to restore parity, giving Real the clean sheet, the away goal and the win.
Real Madrid have now scored 14 goals and are yet to concede as they have won every game they’ve played in 2014 so far.
Iker Casilla set a new personal best, having now gone 592 minutes without conceding a goal.
