Liverpool vs Arsenal Preview By Demola Aluko

Arsenal have the greatest opportunity to prove their tittle ambition is real when they visit a Liverpool side that is basking in the euphoria of their new found formidable strike force (S and S), Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge partnership.

Despite topping the Premier League table for the better part of the 2013/2014 season up-till this moment, many still will not consider the Gunners as favourites to win the tittle.

This surely is a difficult game for the North London team, but if by any chance Arsenal found the confidence they require for their upcoming fixtures that will see them play Manchester United, Bayern Munich (twice) and Liverpool again in less than two weeks, then maybe, analysts will have a rethink and take the Gunners seriously.

Most Arsenal fans had expected Arsene Wenger to make a last minute-buy during the January window, but their hopes were dashed when Schalke refused to let go of 20 year-old Julia Draxler whom Wenger so much wanted at the Emirates.

However, despite suffering from so many injury worries, the Gunners have managed to grind out some good results and are undefeated in eight matches. Their last victory, a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace ensured they remain at the top of the table after Chelsea beat Manchester City 1-0 at the Etihad.

On the other hand, a win for Liverpool, who are anxious to avenge a 0-2 defeat at the Emirates earlier this season will increase the Reds’ hopes of finishing among the top four this year.

Luis Suarez’s phenomenal form has been one of the main factors behind Liverpool’s success and there will again be considerable focus on the Uruguay international, who was the subject of a failed bid by Arsenal last summer.

Anfield fans will look forward to the encounter with greatest optimism, considering Liverpool’s excellent record at home this season, collecting 31 points from their 12 home games so far and scoring 33 goals in the process.

AE FOOTBALL PREDICTION:

With the return of England international, Jack Wilshere, Arsenal will be strengthened a little bit more. The visitors, knowing the pressure will be more on their hosts may end up putting a good show and steal a point.

This surely is the game no Chelsea nor Manchester City fan wants to miss. All eyes on Liverpool/Arsenal, but they” NEVER WALK ALONE IN LIVERPOOL.”
