Holland Coach Already Have List Of New United Players

Louis Van Gaal is expected to take over at Old Trafford after the World Cup in Brazil this summer and the Holland coach is so confident about his new job that he has started his plans for next season.

The Holland coach has identified Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos and Roma’s Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman as his top transfer priority.

United insisted yesterday that no deal has been agreed yet for the appointment of a new manager and that they are considering a number of candidates.

But Tottenham fear they have lost Van Gaal to United.

The Holland manager was expected to join Spurs after the World Cup, but the feeling at White Hart Lane is that Van Gaal will now replace the sacked Moyes.

Van Gaal, 62, has been viewed for some time as one of the favourites for the United job, alongside Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti and possibly Giggs.

Former Chelsea boss Ancelotti, 54, has distanced himself from the United job, but that situation could change if Real fail to reach the Champions League final this week against Bayern and also miss out on the title in Spain.

United will also keep an eye on Pep Guardiola’s situation at Bayern Munich after suggestions that all may not be well there with the former Barcelona boss.

Guardiola would have been United’s ideal choice to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson.

And PSG boss Laurent Blanc, a former United centre half, is highly regarded at Old Trafford.

But Van Gaal has admitted he’s looking for a top club job after the World Cup.

His CV includes a Champions League triumph when the former Barcelona and Bayern boss was in charge of Ajax.

And he is convinced he’ll return to club management with United.
