Everton Wonder Kid Is A 50/50 For Crunch Clash Against Arsenal

Ross Barkley is facing a race against time to be fit for Everton’s crunch clash with Arsenal on Sunday.

The Everton ace is struggling with a calf injury picked up in the Toffees’ 3-1 win at Fulham at the weekend.
“He’s such a quick healer and a young man so we hope he is going to recover in time for the game on Sunday”. Roberto Martinez said
Barkley, 20, came off at half-time and manager Roberto Martinez rates his chances as 50-50 to be ready to face the Gunners.

He said: “He’s such a quick healer and a young man so we hope he is going to recover in time for the game on Sunday.

“Over the next three or four days we will have a clearer idea of where he is and we are going to treat every day as it comes.

“It is fair to say it is 50-50. We need to make sure we recover him well and I’m confident in two days we will know where we are.”

Victory for Everton will put them just one point behind the Gunners with a game in hand in the race for Champions League qualification.

Martinez added: “Playing a side in the top four makes it more glamorous and makes it significant, but it is a not a final say in the race.”
