City Chase Wenger To An Emergency Market
- Updated: January 30, 2014
The shock of being overthrown in the league and seeing their title hopes rocked has forced Arsene Wenger to make a last minute deal in the January transfer as the Gunners reached an agreement to sign Juventus’ Mirko Vucinic on loan for the rest of the season.
The Montenegro international will have a medical at the London club on Thursday.
Vucinic trained on his own at Juventus on Wednesday ahead of a possible last-minute move in the January transfer window.
The 30 year old has only started eight Serie A games for the Italian champions this season, scoring twice, and is keen to secure a move in order to play regularly.
The striker could fill a void for Arsenal in the short-term, but having represented Juve in the Champions League this season he would be cup-tied and not eligible for Arsenal in that competition.
Arsenal have looked at Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata, Barcelona’s Cristian Tello and Schalke’s JulianDraxler as Arsene Wenger considers his attacking options ahead of the title run-in.
