”City Are Beatable” JT. As Pellegrini Blames Defeat On Injuries

Chelsea captain, John Terry has echoed his manager’s voice that City are beatable.

The former England captain said Chelsea’s victory was important because they have been able to prove to other teams that Manuel Pellegrini’s side was not invincible.

“They’ve been phenomenal scoring goals and turning teams over,”

“It was important not just for us but for other teams, showing that they can be beaten.”Terry said.

Terry also said that the outcome of the game was a confirmation of Jose Mourinho’s technical ability.

“We spent a couple of days working on their strengths and weaknesses.

“After the disappointment of dropping two points against West Ham, it was important to come here and bounce back.” He added.

Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has attributed the home defeat to the absence of two of his key players, Sergio Arguero and Fernandinho.

Brazilian midfielder, Fernandinho and Argentina striker, Arguero were both sidelined due to injuries.

“It was a very close game to play against Chelsea without (Sergio) Aguero and Fernandinho.

“It’s important to note that we were missing them, also Nasri and Javi Garcia. We had to change the midfield.

“It was an important game but we’ll continue and we’ll see. We’re just two points behind Arsenal.” Pellegrini added.

Even then, City had chances to snatch an equaliser towards the end of the game as David Silva and Stevan Jovetic both came close to finding a way past Petr Cech.

The visitors were more dangerous, with a third of their 18 shots testing Joe Hart in the City goal, with three hitting the woodwork.
