Chelsea Manager Tells FA To Ban Manchester City’s Yahaya Toure
- Updated: February 10, 2014
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho seems to derive pleasure in attacking tittle rivals Manchester City as he is calling on the English football governing body to ban City’s Ivory Coast midfielder Yahaya Toure following an incident during the weekend.
The incident happened during City’s visit to Joseph Yobo’s new club Norwich on Saturday when Toure appeared to kick Ricky van Wolfswinkel during the Premier League encounter.
A visibly upset Mourinho said during an interview that the FA would be sending a wrong message if the Manchester City player is not punished.
“If he is not suspended the message is clear – you can do what you want,” said Mourinho. “If the FA defends football he has to be suspended.”
Meanwhile, the Football Association has not received referee John Moss’s match report.
If found guilty, Toure could face a three-match ban for the incident.
The game ended 0-0 at Carrow Road.
