Pepe Mel draws first match at W Brom
- Updated: January 20, 2014
Pepe Mel began his tenure as West Brom manager with a draw thanks to Diego Lugano’s second-half header that denied Everton victory and the chance to move back up to fourth.
Kevin Mirallas gave Everton the lead in the first half when he fired in after collecting Romelu Lukaku’s flick-on.
The Baggies equalised with 15 minutes remaining when Lugano stooped to head in James Morrison’s cross.
The draw moves West Brom four points clear of the bottom three.
