Bayern Will Not Budge In Negotiations With Manchester United Target Toni Kroos
- Updated: May 29, 2014
Bayern Munich chief Karl Hopfner says the club will not budge in their contract negotiations with Manchester United target Toni Kroos.
German ace Kroos is a top target for new boss Louis Van Gaal this summer, as looks to turn around United’s fortunes after their calamitous fall from grace.
Kroos worked with Dutch boss Van Gaal at Bayern, and is keen on linking up with the veteran coach once more.
However Bayern president Hopfner says the Bundesliga champions will not be held to ransom in their negotiations with the player.
“There will certainly be further talks,” he said.
“But at some point the player has to say what he wants.

Hopfner pointed to the case of Michael Ballack, who left the club for Chelsea on a free in 2006, as a similar example.
“It was the same with Michael Ballack and at some point we withdrew the offer.”
United are also chasing Southampton and England left-back Luke Shaw, Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels, and Kroos’ team-mate Arjen Robben.
