Midfielder Says United Has Nothing To Play For

United have been left licking their wounds after crashing out of the Champions League to Bayern Munich on Wednesday night  and ace midfielder Darren Fletcher admits that the club’s reputation has taken a severe battering.

David Moyes’s men lost 3-1 in the Allianz Arena to go down 4-2 on aggregate to the European champions and miss out on a place in the semi-finals alongside Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The latest setback ended United’s final hopes of winning something this season and securing qualification for the competition next time out.

It will be the first time in almost two decades that United will not be rubbing shoulders with the greatest clubs in Europe.

The Munich mauling brought the curtain down on a miserable campaign in Moyes’s first season in charge.

The Scotland star said: “Definitely our reputation has been damaged. We now have five or six league games left with nothing really to play for.

“That is a unique experience for us and we are disappointed and hurting, but we have to go into these games and we have to win them.
