Real Madrid Take CR7 Case To Committee Beyond Football
- Updated: February 7, 2014
Real Madrid are willing to go to any length to ensure that a three-match ban placed on Critiano Ronaldo is reduced as the club threaten to take their case to the Spanish Sports Disciplinary Committee after having an appeal turned down by the Spanish Football Federation.
Ronaldo was sent off in Real’s 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao for his reaction to a push from Carlos Gurpegi and a confrontation with Ander Iturraspe in the 75th minute of the Primera Division match.
According to reports in Spain, Real will now take the issue to the Spanish Sports Disciplinary Committee in a bid to get the midfielder’s suspension reduced.
If Ronaldo’s case is rejected again, he will miss Saturday’s league clash against Villarreal and the following two games against Getafe and Elche.
Ronaldo featured in Real Madrid’s first leg Copa del rel semi-final victory against city rivals Atletico on Wednesay.
