Guinness Drag European Rivals To Neutral Ground
- Updated: February 4, 2014
Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United will be among the eight teams participating in the 2014 Guinness International Cup in the United States this summer.
Real Madrid, AC Milan, Roma, Inter Milan and Olympiakos will also be involved in the tournament which will take place in cities across the United States from July 26 to August 4.
The eight teams will be divided into two groups of four with the winners of Group A and Group B meeting in the final.
Real Madrid defeated Chelsea 3-1 in Miami in the inaugural final last year with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring twice for the Spanish side.
It will be Manchester United’s fifth pre-season tour of the US, although their plans may be affected if they have to take part in the early qualifying stages of the Europa League in early August.
The final will be played at Miami’s Sun Life Stadium on Monday August 4 and there will also be matches staged in Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Washington DC and two additional cities.
