Demoralilsed Super Eagles Win Bronze

Christian Obiozor’s 85th minute header was all Nigeria needed against 10-men Zimbabwe to claim the bronze medal at the 2014 African Nations Championship in Cape Town on Saturday.
Zimbabwe’s Masimba Mambare was deservedly sent off just 18 minutes into the third place off after a dangerous play against goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim, in goal for the Super Eagles.
It was not a game that reached any great heights as a spectacle, both coaches giving a run to some fringe players in this final game of the tournament.
Coach Stephen Keshi’s decision to give playing opportunities to a number of new players seemed to account for the 85 minutes goal drought, as the Super Eagles created only a few scoring chances.
Nigeria was participating in the African Nations Championship for the first time.
