Speaker Dogara Appoints Ex-colleague As Chief Of Staff
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Monday, June 15th, 2015By Abdul Gafaar Bello – The newly-elected Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has appointed an ex-colleague in the lower Federal legislative chamber, Hon. Jerry Manwe as his Chief of Staff (COS).
The appointment which was made public Monday, was stated in a letter signed by Dogara, dated June 15, 2015, with reference number, NASS/SPK/MGT/VOL.I/002 and addressed to the National Assembly Clerk.
Hon. Manwe, an indigene of Taraba State, North central, holds Certificate in Accounting, Higher National Diploma in Business Management and Bachelor of Technology (in view), was the immediate past House Committee Chairman on Electoral Matters as well as Committees on Finance, Economic Planning, Interior and Communications.
He was once appointed Taraba State Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development between 1999 and 2001; member, Christian Pilgrim Board, 2001 to 2003, and Chairman, National Commission for Colleges of Education, 2005 to 2007.
Hon. Manwe is an alumnus of Federal Polytechnic Mubi and Federal University of Technology Yola, Adamawa State.
The letter indicated his appointment is with immediate effect.
