Southgate Meets FA top hierarchy For Job Interview
Latest Headlines, Sports News Friday, November 18th, 2016BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Dream of Gareth Southgate of being confirmed as the substantive England Manager is gradually turning to a reality, as he is scheduled to meet the Football Association top hierarchy on Monday for job interview.
He is expected to be interviewed at St George’s Park by a panel including FA chairman Greg Clarke, Chief Executive Martin Glenn, technical director Dan Ashworth, as well as League Managers’ Association Chairman Howard Wilkinson and former England defender Graeme Le Saux.
The FA has insisted it has no time frame on when an appointment will be made, with England’s next game a friendly in Germany in March. It however restated that the final decision will be taken by Clarke, Glenn and Ashworth.
The organization said it is determined not to be rushed into an appointment and wished to conduct a thorough process.
This is despite that Southgate is currently the firm favourite to take over on a full-time basis.
England Skipper, Wayne Rooney is one of the players (fans) who have been pushing for Southgate appointment.
The 46-year-old Coach has just concluded a four-game stint as interim manager following the immediate past Manager Sam Allardyce’s departure.
