South East Governors Condemn The Killing Of Ahmed Gulak In Imo
Featured, Latest Headlines, News Across Nigeria, News From The State Monday, May 31st, 2021(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Governors of the South East geo political zone of Nigeria, has condemned in strong terms the killing of Gulak Ahmed, a former political Adviser, to Ex- president Goodluck Jonathan, by unknown gunmen in Owerri, the Imo State, capital, describing the act as a national catastrophe.
They spoke under their Forum platform on Sunday via a Statement issued by their Chairman and governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi.
Gulak, was murdered in a cold blood Sunday morning on his way to the Sam Mbakwe’s Cargo airport in Owerri.
The statement signed by Unahi’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Francis Nwaze, urged security agencies to immediately arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
“It is with a rude shock that we received the news of the unfortunate death of Alhaji Ahmed Gulak in the hands of the senseless unknown gunmen.
“We, on behalf of the people of South East, condemn the act highly and we charge security agencies to immediately deploy their officers and men to arrest the perpetrators and make them face justice, we, however, pray to God to grant the deceased rest in eternity”.
The governor however, condoled Gulak’s family, the Adamawa State Government and Nigerians in general.
They prayed God to grant the departed rest in his bosom.
