Featured, Latest Headlines Tuesday, November 4th, 2014About two weeks after slamming the South African Olympic and Paralympic athletic star, Oscar Pistorius, with five years jail term, for killing his ex – girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, the country’s prosecution body has filed appeal against the judgment.
The The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) made this public Tuesday in a statement. It informed it has filed an application for an appeal to set aside both the conviction and sentence the sport star.
The statement explained that the appeal on conviction was based “on the question of law”.
It would be recalled Steenkamp’s family members were not satisfied with Justice Masipa’s verdict, as they had expected stiffer sanctions against Pistorius.
